Without viewing the program it sounds a bit unbalanced to me Doc, based on the modicum of information you have supplied. Racism, humiliation, violent economic unrest? Frankly it sounds like the sort of left wing drivel so common on PBS. Is there another side to this story?

It seems to me that this word was discussed extensively a few years ago at the Yourdictionary.com forum. I think Henri Day suggested it.

Perhaps you should ask your wife?
I did, she didn't know either.

Learn to say it in Hebrew. The expression translates well.
OK. How much do you charge for a lesson?

Todo el tiempo en el mundo

My wife and I both have Spanish as a second language, though she speaks it better than I. The other day I was waiting for her to do something so that I could go to work. I said: íVieja! ¿Crees que tengo todo el tiempo en el mundo? This literal translation of "Do you think I have all the time in...

suorum & secum

My son is studying Latin at his community college. I studied one year of Latin in high school and did not do very well with it. My son, Ben, is doing better than I did, but he has not been able to find a translation for the two words listed in the subject. If any member of the Agora can help us with...

Nice verb. Do you want it to be selected or elected? Either, Perry, as long as it's not rejected. I think the great Arlo Guthrie used the most past participles of the "-ected" type in one sentence than any other person I know: Alice's Restaurant, where the eminently delectable Alice B. To...

Delect

Doctor Goodword, would you maybe approve of the creation of new verbs? If so I present for your consideration the new verb "delect". As you have probably guessed, the verb "delect" would be the opposite of the verb "elect". It would replace the awkward constructions &qu...

And then, of course, there's the apparently controversial, transpire. from M-W online: Main Entry: tran•spire Pronunciation: tran(t)-'spI(-&)r Function: verb Inflected Form(s): tran•spired; tran•spir•ing Etymology: Middle French transpirer, from Medieval Latin transpirare, from Latin trans- + sp...

Conspire, Inspire, Respire, Spire

Doctor, here are three verbs and a noun for your consideration. Without researching the issue, I'm guessing each is related in some way to the word "spirit" and to life, though I'm not sure how "conspire" might fit in. A spire, is of course, typically associated with christian or...

YIPES! So what happens when you need to make a left-curving cut? I know about those because I spent a month or so doing aluminum siding one summer in my youth. To do a complete job you do need all three. Ah, well ... Yeah. I guess it does take all kinds to make a, um...a complete world of cutting t...

If there are three pair, you might have one for cutting curves to the right, one to the left, and one for cutting straight on. Yes, that's exactly what was in the package. I discarded the ones that cut to the left, they seemed uncomfortable with me. The ones that cut to the center and to the right ...

Inspired by this thread, I went to Walmart the other day to buy some tools. I found a set of three sheet metal snips for only 9.96 USD, but I have no idea what they're good for. I was hoping someone here at the Agora might give me some tips.

I hear voices all the time, most often when I forget my meds. But I don't know if any one of them is the voice of my conscience because they all speak in languages I don't understand, except for maybe a word here and there.
