I know nothing of optatives nor of the Swedish tongue, but Bible/liturgical translations offer always a passionate debate we often discuss in class. I found very curious to see "per saecula, saeculorum" rendered as "world without end" in English, whereas our Spanish translation r...

Perhaps a "vestigial" subjunctive! "Come hell or high water" sounds more subjunctive, but I think "Come Thursday," etc. is the same form. Apo Indeed, it sounds as if a pristine "when" or "if" was missing. Or maybe this is my own Romance-minded inter...

Where was I when you all posted here!! Greetings Ilka!! I can't help finding funny that you use "Mediterráneo" to learn Castilian (if I may use this term here), for I bet the original wrote was in Catalan. :D Well, my little, late contributions. "A" and "para", although...

Thank you yuri!! At last someone heeds me! :D That's the kind of example I sought in my own manual... without success! I can't believe something that simple and necessary doesn't appear. I s'ppose they assume you're swift-minded enough to reckon 很 and 太 are the same sort of thing... But what if you'...

I knew it must be something like that... Ah, and the simplified form exists also in Chinese (for the PRC of course...). As to the...
