Being originally from the Northeast, I had never heard of "warsh" (yes, as in Warshington, AND warsh the car) until I moved to north Texas where it was prevalent.

I naturally tend to capitalize the word following the colon, but recall ALWAYS having it corrected while in college. For this reason I now always follow the colon with a lower-case letter.
Never heard of the complete sentence rule.

instead of
TP'ing,
since then you'd need two apostrophes as someone else suggested.
