I had so much trouble trying to get the schwa to display that I finally set my browser (IE) thusly:
Tools/Internet Options/Font... button/
In the Language script box select Latin based.
In the "Web page font" box select Tahoma (you can try others if you like).
In the "Plaintext font box" select MS Gothic (again, you can experiment if you like).
Click OK.
Now click the "Accessibility..." button.
Check the "Ignore font styles specified on Web pages" box. This will force IE to use the fonts you selected.
Click OK and OK.
You may also be prompted at some time to load a Japanese (or other) font for which you may need your original Windows disk.
I had no trouble at all displaying the page
The Consonants At Law. Reading it, however, is another matter altogether!
