What is the last thing that goes through a lightning bug's mind when hit by a car?

The bulb of an idea that he should have been flying faster?

Ow, that's going to make that poor firefly the butt of all sorts of jokes.

Man, that hurt! It's a good thing that lightening doesn't strike in the same place twice.

To borrow from an equine-associated axiom[sup]1[/sup], it was the eqivalent of the Southern end of a Northbound lightning bug.

This assumes, of course a head-on (anterior) or tail-on (posterior) collisional attitude. If struck on the dextrous side, it would be something sinister, and vice versa. For any other attitude we are unable to generalize, anatomically speaking. However, the end result is not likely to be a good outcome, neither for the bug nor the poor schlemiel who has to clean the car.

[sup]1[/sup]"In any organization of sufficient size, the ratio of Southern ends of Northbound horses to the total number of horses is always greater than one."

The Cohan Corollary (from the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy is "It takes two people to play a horse on Broadway, but you always have trouble casting the front half."
