I was never a fan of Brubeck. I recognize some of his compositions and his saxophone player was quite good. I could never get into progressive jazz. Perhaps I have missed something since I respect Perry’s and wurdpurrson’s opinion. I am a Dixieland and classical jazz fan but, even more, I am a big band fan. One of our musical ensembles at church is a jazz band but they have more of a big band sound. I like Kenny Gee. Does that count for something? I have a haunting, what if, about topics I have not pursued; so many fields of knowledge, so little time. But every thing is copacetic.

Love big band music to dance to - can't beat it. There are many kinds of jazz, enough to satisfy even the most obstinate soul. I like any kind of good, real music, classical through jazz (they have a lot in common) and all kinds of other offshoots: folk to ethnic, jug bands to musical theatre. It's all good.
