Can we all agree to Skype next Easter and join in a chorus of Let There Be Peeps on Earth?

Peeps are very popular here in the Deep South. Cannot stand them myself. Thank goodness they only come out once a year. Honestly, I don't think they biodegrade (sort of like styrofoam), so the Peeps you buy today may have been formed sometime in the last century. Just my opinion.

Johnny Carson used to contend there was only one fruit cake in the world that just keeps being passed around.

In answer to whether there are peeps in Texas, my definition of Texas hinterlands is my domicile. Out in this great state there may be many peeps enthusiasts, or many peeps haters. In my hinterland they are totally unknown and I hope never to have the actual experience of an encounter.

And true to form I received a package of the
little critters in a sack of goodies on a monthly
visit to friends who are always giving away
stuff, which I immediately regift or 'trash'.
I thought of this thread immediately, of course,
and thought I'd offer: Phillip I'd be glad to mail
these to you if you like. The offer stands.

A new low for the forum, Luke. You actually threatened Philip! (I was planning to blackmail him with them, since my son lives in an adjacent suburb.)

Shall we join forces? In a loving way of course
because "let there be peeps on earth".

But I can relate to the popcorn-like foam packing peanuts. I'm convinced they multiply, because I run across some days after I open a box and supposedly clean up the mess.

Yes, they are like Christmas Tree needles, which also
multiply in rooms where a Christmas tree never set
foot. And as for the popcorn bubbles, they remind me
of the old Star Trek episode: "The Trouble with Tribbles",
which stick to everything as they multiply.

Speaking of multiplying, are any of you old enough to remember the Shmoo invented by Li'l Abner cartoonist Al Capp? These lovable creatures reproduced by asexual fission at a rapid rate. They provided all the needs of life and were thus a threat to the Protestant work ethic. They were eradicated by the US Government. If you don't know about them then Google Shmoo.

Wow how I remembered them. And I remember that
at the time they drove me crazy. Caused lots of
trouble as I remember.

Speaking of cartoons, on a more modern (and accessible to myself at least) tip I noted geeky comic xkcd's use of 'subduction' this week:

Apologies to those who prefer to believe in the 5000 year old earth
