Hmmm, Larry, one of my art professors would refer to him as "JC," another a breeezy familiarity designed to jar the students' complacency.

I agree (I think - with you I am never quite sure !), Larry, that Freedom is a conundrum. That old basic definition to the effect that your freedom stops at my nose - and vice-versa - goes pretty far, but in practice, with more than 6000 million people on the Earth and 190 so-called sovereign states, things get a bit more complicated ! Thus the need for the restrictions on state sovereignty embodied in International Law....
