Good call, misterdoe. It really is bad form. But it sounds as though you made a face-saving recovery from your instincts. Congratulations.

Wurdpurrson, Where do you live on the Olympic Peninsula?

am surrounded by books, even though I've tried very hard to use the library. At my age, the chance of re-reading, given the number of books on the list to read, is vanishingly small. There is a group of us who pass books about, ending up with (usually) donating them to the library's twice a year book sales. Oh dear. Yes we do acquire...

We live with the Olympic National Park and its spectacular mountains out the south-facing windows, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Victoria BC Canada visible from our north-facing windows - in Port Angeles WA. Nice little lunch-bucket town, with friendly people and incredible beaches, temperate rain forests and migrating salmon streams just a short drive away.

Books are my refuge. It's difficult to think of culling them, as I surely must so that my son is not faced with the impossible task in future.
