I'm not seeing one of these for 2009. Have we dumped the idea? Or am I just not seeing it?

Word of the Year

Postby Dr. Goodword » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:15 am

Too many words of the year began appearing. The American Dialect Society actually started The Word of the Year. My partner and I started The Top Ten Words of the Year at yourDictionary around 2002. Then Merriam-Webster jumped into the picture and since a few other organizations have joined the fray. I continued at alphaDictionary but didn't have the footing in the media necessary to make it successful. I decided to give it up after 2006 because it was difficult to attract attention away from all the contenders.
