I discovered this interesting(and rather interesting sounding) word today while looking up information about the history of Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. It names a wild lily which is native to southern Vancouver Island. Interesting indeed!

According to a couple of sites i ran across it's a Chinook word meaning "a rush of water", but, I can't find it in any Chinook dictionary. I have found "camasuck" which refers to a bead and thought to be from the common Pacific Northwest plant camas.
Other sites says it means "the place where camas is gathered" (http://www.victorialodging.com/victoria/index.html)
I can't find any pictures of a camosack lily. I wonder if it is simply another reference to what is commonly called the camas, the root of which was a food staple for many PNW natives.
