I discovered this interesting word a few days ago. It,s a very old(or possibly obsolete) word for cows and other bovine animals.

It has other meanings too

Rother soil
the dung of rother beasts.

n. 1. A rudder.Rother nail
a nail with a very full head, used for fastening the rudder irons of ships; - so called by shipwrights.

Again, Grogie, another good word. I'm familiar with all items in the definitions, but not that word.
