Skulduggery [skuhl-duh-guh-ree]

Aside from being one of those words that one really can't say without a smile for its sound, it names something we live and breathe the insidious particles of every day.

noun: verbal misrepresentation intended to take advantage of you in some way (WordNet)

I like this def even though badly worded as it addresses a social ill in a more direct way that disingenuousness.

others-
Dictionary.com: 1. dishonorable proceedings; mean dishonesty or trickery: bribery, graft, and other such skulduggery.

2. an instance of dishonest or deceitful behavior; trick.

[Origin: 1705–15, Americanism; var. of sculduddery, orig. Scots: fornication, obscenity (?)]
