Hmm. I've had coddled eggs before, but never coddled fish. But I've never poached fish--I guess I'm just a law-abiding kind of guy.

Due to a month-long brain cramp I couldn't remember this word until last night...
Noodling, or more properly--noodln'. Catching catfish by going after them in the water--usually having to find them by feel. Supposedly the word came from idea that if you felt a noodle, you found a catfish...or a snake. You would attempt to thread your arm into his mouth and then out a gill and attempt to pull it up. When they try to bite and back up, you go with the fish so it's teeth won't sink into your arm.
It's often thought that those who pursue this are not quite right, as there are catfish bigger than people and they do bite.
I think I'd make a good noodlin' watcher. Once anyway.
