verbigeration

Postby Bailey » Fri May 04, 2007 12:35 pm

verbigeration (vuhr-bij-uh-RAY-shun) noun

Obsessive repetition of meaningless words and phrases.

[From Latin verbigerare (to talk, chat), from verbum (word) + gerere (to carry on).]
hmm sounds exactly what it means, Flora Bunda loves to talk and talk but after a while I just tune her out because it's just verbigeration.

I just read about this word in an email newsletter I received and filed it away for future use. It does remind me of certain people I know...
