Oh doctor, my Doctor what's wrong with short words?
so compact so concise and truely precise?
So many are they we'd never run out...
so let's just quit our gaddingabout!

spate(spt)
n.
1. A sudden flood, rush, or outpouring: "It issues a spate of words from the loudspeakers and the politicians" Virginia Woolf.
2. Chiefly British
a. A flash flood.
b. A freshet resulting from a downpour of rain or melting of snow.
c. A sudden heavy fall of rain.

t'was a spate of short words that I posted
so brief and so truncated true.
it's a sprue of tiny verbiage
yet none did ye 'prove
I swear on my laurals I ne'r did coasted (go ahead, find a good rhyme for posted)

Had I known it was slaked ye 'quired
I'd have forwith transpired
that small word presented; with all due aplomb
and perhaps have written a Psalm!
