In Italian, →Befana is the name of the old woman arriving on a broom and representing Epifania (Epiphany)

Late latin epiphania from greek tà epiphaneia from phadinein, to appare, and epi, over or after (the divinity)

reminds me of Broom Hilda, a local newspaper cartoon.
