I had to look up pragmatic to get a handle on this one. I've never used it in any sense other than the "practical" one.

a. busy; active.
b. officious; meddlesome; interfering.
c. dogmatic; opinionated.

So adding the "poly" makes it quite intensive, wouldn't you say?

I find nothing pragmatic about meddlesome people, but that's just me.
