A great term there, Grog!A variety of a language that differs greatly from the standard form. Its opposite,''acrolect'', is the standard or ''educated'' form of the language.
Kind of what we (i.e. I) commit on these here boards, no?
Presumably bas and acr stand for lower and higher, as in Hochdeutsch / High German, etc.
