defluxion

Postby eberntson » Thu Feb 07, 2008 11:12 am

de·flux·ion (d-flkshn)
n.

1. A falling down or out, as of the hair.
2. A flowing down or discharge of fluid.

[Origin: 1540–50; < LL défluxiōn- (s. of défluxiō) a flowing down, discharge, equiv. to L dé- de- + fluxiōn- fluxion]

Most definitions refer to the liquid meaning of this word. But I like the hair reference.

Although I read this in reference of a Saints who's burial garments retained a aromatic odor after the defluxion of fragrance that came from the body.

Many a man has given his all to deflect defluxion. Frankly, I am bald and content with my lot.

God created only so many perfect heads; on the rest he put hair.
