rubric

Postby eberntson » Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:47 am

So this is a strange word, I mean it basically means "red", how does that lead to heading or category? We use it at work as a mantle that other things fall under or are subject too.

Is that why we had the "reds" or the "red menace"?

Aye, there's the rub.
2. set of printed instructions: a set of printed rules or instructions, e.g. the rules governing how Christian services are to be conducted, often printed in red in a prayer book
And if several such books were packed together so as to be as thick as they were long and wide, would they collectively be a rubrics cube?
Stop! Murder us not, tonsured rumpots! Knife no one, fink!
