Remember this word ? For obvious reasons it seems to be on its way out of the living vocabulary - but perhaps we should remember it as a predecessor to current expressions which use
space as a metaphor for time :

narrowly, but over the net, the
broader the band, the faster transmission is. Go figure it !...
