The adverb vigorously has one meaning:

Meaning #1: with vigor; in a vigorous manner
Synonym: smartly
Derived from adjective: vigorous (meaning #1)

I have a friend who prefers words of um, er... singular syllable, but once when we were working together she tried to hasten me (I think she was holding something heavy, waiting for me to get the soil prepared underneath), she in desperation, finally blurted out ,"Vigorously , please!" :) Katy
