The old-fashioned puppet toy, where you pulled a string at the bottom and the puppet flailed its limbs. Also used for certain politicians, whose strings are pulled by others.

Time to resurrect this one, I do believe.

Yes, this is definitely one of the best "Washington" words that I've seen in ages. I'll be using it...often.

Glad y'all like the beastie. I've been spreading it around orally a bit here and there. I do hope it catches on.

I am a frequent 'contributor' to our Executive/Justice/Congressional branch mailboxes. I always try to write one well enough that the beleagured aide will show it to its intended recipient...if nothing else, I'm educating the aides that wade. Their new word for the day will be your delightful contribution. I think it's just odd enough they may look it up and we will have struck another blow for freedom of speech!

Keep up the good word work!

Did you see this one: Snollygoster? It might come in handy, too.

I've never met a Quockerwodger,
I hope I never meet one.
But I can tell you this right now,
I'd rather see than be one.

However we want and need our elected officials to be subject to strings directing them. OUR strings. What we do NOT want is their strings to be pulled by those with the most money.. Sorry for the political commentary.

I can't find anything on it. It appears only in one online dictionary. I wish I could.

 Sigh, I wish you could, too. Oh well, it's still a good and fun word.
