FENCIBLE----- soldiers enlisted for home service only -

COSTERMONGER----- one who sells apples, other fruit and vegetables in the street
TINKER -----travelling repairman , seller of pots and pans
ANNUITANT- ----- non-working person receiving an annual income or pension - ----- one employed in a stable to take care of the horses
BEADLE- ----a minor parish official who serves as an usher and preserves order at services

I've re-suggested some of these as individuals, but I'll leave the rest up to you folks now.

Then again, would Bob Cratchet be a scrivener?

And beadle (as a homonym) was used recently in a J. K. Rowling tie-in to the Harry Potter novels: the Tales of Beedle the Bard.
