Triskaidekaphobia

Postby Slava » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:50 am

A little late for today, but a fun word nonetheless.

Fear of the number 13.

Happy Friday the 13th!
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Johnny Carson's favorite phobia. I think it was because he didn't know the words for any other phobias.
It is dark at night, but the Sun will come up and then we can see.

An interesting tidbit I just learned about the Agora: you can't do a search for this word. Not in the sense that the search function doesn't work properly, but in that you just can't do it. "Search" allows only up to 14 letters. Odd.

Happy Friday the 13th anyway!

You can however enter t into the Alpha dictionary site and get 36 hits. Quartz also links to an article about it, suggesting 13 figures at the Last Supper painting or king Philip's massacre of masons on Friday 13.
