While I was healing from some cuts, I used a balm to avoid he formation of cheloids. I had fun telling people that I was avoiding chelonians - hardly any one noticed the difference. Actually, this all happened in Portuguese, but the words - quelóide and quelônio - are the same as in English, but for some language formatting.
Anyway, chelonian could also be a WOTD. It looks like those two words are actually related, but I have not researched that.

There is also a very suspect alternativ heart treatment called chelation. I wonder whether that fits in too?

This word has too a meaning too narrow. I can't play with it, showing how it could be used more broadly, figuratively. Keep this demand on me in mind when you submit your next word.
