cisgender
This was a new word to me, but it reminded me of Cisalpine Gaul from my Latin lessons in school.

Re: cisgender
Thanks for suggesting this word. This provoked the same thought of cisalpine and caused me to pursue it further. Cis is a Latin prefix. It means on the near side. See this: a prefix occurring in loanwords from Latin meaning “on the near side of; on this side of” ( cisalpine); on this model, used in the formation of compound words ( cisatlantic).
Now we know.
Now we know.
