Zeitgeber
Ok, ok, I know a zeit word is already posted...zeitgeist, but I am unable to resist this contribution, especially since I am still studying German, which will be a life long sentence. This is a direct translation of time and the infinitive for to give. Time giver. It is an agent that stimulates the biological clock of an organism, such as light, warmth, or even a work or school schedule for humans.

Re: Zeitgeber
Nature's own alarm clock, as it were.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
