A modern coinage by a 20th century psychologist, this means, according to dictionary.com, "a state of mind resulting from romantic attraction, characterized by feelings of euphoria, the desire to have one's feelings reciprocated, etc"
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

Off the top of my head, I'd say it's an all-in-one word. Meant to imply the totality of being in love.

I could always be wrong, though.
