Clarion
It is clear to me that this word is used mostly in conjunction with call. A clarion call to arms. Interesting that its origin is also clear from Medieval Latin, clarus, or clear. Is this clear to all of you? German uses klar, spanish claro and French Clair. I have not researched further, but I would suspect this word has a PIE root. Anyone?

Re: Clarion
From etymonline again,
from PIE *kle-ro-, from root *kele- (2) "to shout"
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
