Alas, the Online Etymology Dictionary only has:

yippee
interjection of pleasure, etc., 1920.

But I do remember the yippies of my youth! (Another stroll down the 60s Counter-cultural lane for Henri! )

And we won't mention John McClane's (Bruce Willis) comeback in Die Hard when the villain, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) said, "Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mister Cowboy?"
