I discovered this word a few days ago while looking up something else(a very common occurrance!). In morphology, it refers to the study of inflection.

How would you use this in a sentence? I tried to find an example but came up empty.

The accidence of Latin amare "to love", is its endings:

am-o I love
am-as you love
am-at he/she loves
am-amus we love
am-atis yall love
am-ant they love

The accidence of Englis "love" is:
love
love-s

Dr. Goodword and BD, many thanks for the examples of accidence. I didn,t have a truly clear definition of the word in my mind.
