Libido

Interesting but logical path that this word took on its trip to English from Latin, where, if I understand it correctly, meant simply desire. Now it is relegated to specifically sexual desire. I think.

This was in a crossword puzzle I did yesterday. The clue?

"Screw driver".

Excellent crossword clue. Did you get it or did you have to wait for the published answer?

I got it by getting the words that crossed it. I also do them on my computer, so the answers are available should I have to. I almost never do, but some of the modern independent ones I download are so heavily based in cultures I know nothing about, I have to cheat at times.
