The wav links didn't work for me, and I'm too lazy, it's too late and I downed too much wine to find out why. Anyway, li Wallon is a language I don't expect to understand, from what I've seen of it. People who think it's French must be crazy.

only death can cure a fool.

baka
Baka is a derogatory term in japanese. When I was a wee lass,
I lived in Yokohama and Tenri, Japan, attended 1st and 2nd grade at a catholic institution, where my parents taught English to the Japanese students. I was derided by the local
denizens as gaijin or foreigner and 'baka'

The Drunkenemperor (empress ?) is well informed - the epithet «馬鹿» in Japan is hardly meant as a compliment and the number of sayings employing the term is, alas, not small, so even in that charming country it is not universally the case that people treat each other with respect. But, as we all know,
馬鹿に着ける薬は無い
Still, some years ago the Finns made a man named Aho their Prime Minister, and we have recently had other examples which show that high intelligence is not a prerequisite for high office. So maybe the drug companies should be looking for something with which to treat the rest of us instead....

人在江湖、身不由己。

Every respectable name in one language falls prey to derision by another language.
