And, not to be forgotten, a « flatbottom boat used chiefly in the Baltic Sea as a barge». In Swedish, the corresponding term is «pråm» (just to save you the trouble of asking). The SAOB entry from 1954 provides a somewhat more detailed etymologi than the above, to wit :

[fsv. pram, praam, prom; jfr fd. o. dan. pram, fnor. pråmr, nor. pram; av mlt. pram; liksom mnl. praem, prame, holl. praam, ffris. prm, fris. prame, mht. prm, t. prahm(e), eng. pram, fr. prame, ytterst av fslav. pramu, båt (varav tjeck. pram, pol. prom, ry. poróm), etymologiskt motsv. fsv. farmber, last, fsax. farm, resa, fht. farm, båt, isl. farmr, last; av samma ieur. rot som ingår i FARA, v.[sup]2[/sup]; formen prom kan möjl. ha inlånats från en dock icke bestyrkt mlt. biform prom]
