When we post a new post, at the bottom is the option of creating a poll. What is this for? I haven't been aware of one being used, though I've never really looked.

You could set up a poll to ask for opinions connected to the thread. E.g.:

Dr. Goodword has explained that ain't is a legitimate word for use in first person singular. Do you think that, used correctly, this word should be brought into formal and business speech?

Yes
No
Undecided.

Only the person who initiates a new subject can set up a poll on that thread.
