I apologise in advance for those of you who will be offended by this but the last line makes up for it.
The following is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term: Political Correctness.

"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t u rd by the clean end."

I have a feeling this is a false attribution, in an attempt to give it some respectability. There is no mention of it on the A&M site, and all other links don't give any real citations, they just repeat the original A&M attribution.

It's a good one, though.

I've heard the defitnion before but never the attribution. It should be patently obvious that it would not be Politically Correct for Texas A&M, or any other university for that matter, to claim that definition as its own.

Damn good defintion, though! Sometimes the truth really stinks!

Just found this. Does anyone else have the trouble I do when the context is not crystal clear of not knowing whether PC means pol cor or personal computer. I've stumbled both ways. Since I just read that mobile devices will soon greatly out number PC's, the problem may correct itself.
