Audio typos

Serious grammar injuries heard on the media boxes here.

NPR last week:
"He'll probably tell you he came in a little stronger than he wished he would have liked."

- in context, I knew what had been meant but I thought it would have to have been a challenge to have had to have had it diagrammed on the blackboard in 4th grade...

Looks like a performance error to me: the speaker mashed together two sentences, either one of which would have done the job.

You all misunderstand. The mysterious "he" suffers from an overly retiring personality. So when he came on strong, he wished he would have liked it, but he was prevented by his natural reticence from so doing.
