Shoely you jest

Shoedn't we be stepping all over the recent story? It's just laced with possibilities, even if we do sidestep the political:

Reporter to Bush: You have been shooed in court (a quid pro toe)

The reporter did make Bush do something he'd never done before- lean to the left (or you might say he was taking shots from both the right and the left...)

Anyway, we can honestly now say our Prez got sole.

Even if he is a heel, I say the guy was just a downtrodden footsoldier, taking what steps he could against his perceived arch-enemy. At least he's not a loafer.

You could say he missed the Prez by two feet.
It was a ...pedestrian effort.

"They're trying to find out if the reporter was a Shiite or a Shoenni..." (David Leatherman)

Sluggo, that made me sneaker quite a bit.

I understand the shoe thrower is becoming well-heeled--his employer just gave his family a house. (True.)

Eyelet it go.

I'll just bite my tongue...

Ah, I see we're trying to keep instep with the times.

Was the reporter angry, or just trying to give Bush a leg up?

Slava, well done getting instep to fit. I was worn out trying to fit that one in. Same with sneaker, Skin.

I flip-flopped over how much politics to squeeze in, but didn't want to clog the pun platform with what some might perceive as a croc. So nice work, you sharp tongues. That was .... polished.

PS- new video is in...

After the attack by the sole-less man, President Bush slogged on like a trooper. His only comment was, "Doesn't that man know that the shoe must go ON?"

Well it certainly made for a lively news week- now in Iraq there's no business like shoe business.

Wow, a penny for your thoughts, you guys are not loafers. You really kicked this one around! Those were some very vibram puns.

Shoot...I guess I should have left welt-enough alone...now I have to re-boot.

OK Skin, you have kicked this upstairs to a new level:
...now I have to re-boot.
:P

Excellent tie-in. Truly soleful. A giant step.

And what of that missing pair, Gailr and Perry?? Shoely they would love to pump up this tread, if they knew what they were missing. Somebody get 'em on the horn!

But all credit where due, you pair have stepped up quite comfortably. I think we all deserve an extra ration of dessert, which is of course a choice between

Pitch Cobbler
or -- all together now--

Shoe-fly pie ........

If it had been Clinton instead of Bush, would the assailant have tossed flip-flops instead?

Perhaps the others have been insulted somehow. Did someone tread on their toes?

If someone has two degrees from a fancy college in England, do they have a pair of Oxfords?

Bush being a fly-boy, shouldn't the tosser have tossed wing-tips?

As long as we're on the subject:

http://www.sockandawe.com/

It has nothing to do with words, but it's fun anyway.

Has anyone come up with a way to fit sandal into the punnery here?

I just wonder whether it was Bush or the other guy who behaved like a heel?

It just goes to show that the news has become what Ed Sullivan used to call "a really big shoe".

I believe the assailant has now given a small interview:

"I'm sorry I missed the heel. Those were meant to be tongue in cheek."

Some gumshoe probably put him on the rack -where they sandal misfits.

(There we go Slava- whew, that took days...)
