NYT today has interesting article where even the OED gets on board with new web terms like lol and omg!

While I bemoan what may appear as the demise of the language, I still have hope that the future will prove brighter than it looks at present.

I bemoan not the Web and its bits and pieces. Rather it is the disintegration of grammatical communication I mourn.
