A New to Me -ology

Palynology - the study of pollens and spores. The word that led me to this was melissopalynology - the study of the pollen in honey to trace its origins.
Not to be confused with palinology - the study of Sarah.
Doubting that this would make the cut for a GWotD, I'm putting it down here.

How about paleoynology -- the study of long extinct pollens and spores?

How about paleoynology -- the study of long extinct pollens and spores?
Well, that would most likely be paleopalynology, which, I gather, is quite important to understanding ancient life. Those little spores and pollen that scientists are somehow able to find and study tell us a great deal about the ancient world.

Anyone still out there? The OED lists 760 headwords ending in ‘ology’. Looking for the shortest, and thinking ‘oology’ would be a word - it is - I stumbled upon jes’ plain ‘ology’, yes, listed as a word, not just a suffix, albeit ‘colloquial’. Go know.
