New PhpBB Version

Postby ashaffer » Mon Oct 31, 2005 1:21 pm

Hi,

I just wanted to let everybody know that I've upgraded the forum software to a new version, and I would ask everybody to keep their eyes open for the glitches that inevitably pop up after stuff like this. :D

Thanks,

Andrew

So you're saying there might be some tricks in the treats?

Well, I got tricked. I guess my cookies went stale, so I had to go blast them to bits (digital crumbs, so to speak) to get rid of a very ugly, incomprehensible SQL (usually pronounced "sequel" by most of the computing world, although I prefer "SQUEAL") error message. Then it was a simple matter of logging back in to continue my career of snide, inane posts.

Is it why I wasn't granted access to the forum for two entire days? Those were the two longest days of my life.

Cleared out the sessions table

Postby ashaffer » Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:17 pm

Hi,

There was something else I needed to change about the forum software with the upgrade that I didn't do - they added a database table and I didn't update ours to synchronize with it. Everything should be OK now.

Is our good Ashaffer related to Paul Shaffer, the keyboard guy on David Letterman?
