For those who understand it, a very interesting critique on José Saramago's use of españolismos in his works.

The critique link doesn't work, but the Wikipedia one does. It turns out Saramago died just last month (June 18, 2010). I've never read any of his works, but I should imagine they are quite interesting.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
