Words for Corruption

Postby Slava » Fri Jul 12, 2013 8:39 pm

There are so many words for corruption or bribery that one could probably write several books on them.

Here's one small article from the Beeb as a lead-in:

Today I also learned a bit of British slang: bungs (backhanders), kickbacks as we in the US call them, I do believe.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

As I understand it, bribes aare so common in parts of the world that US businesses feel impelled to pay them in order to function. As does government, sometimes confused with foreign aid.
