So if one is exhausted from a very touchy-feely day, on could say, "I'm just about done in by my haptic day". :?

Or for a more down-home expression, "I'm on my last haptic nerve"...

(too much of which might give one a haptic ulcer)

haptically swimming along

I thought haptic was a totally different sense than touch. Like when you are swimming laps in a pool and you get the sense that you are almost at the other end and start your turn, that's using your haptic sense.

You can find in gospel when Jesus said after his resurrection to a woman: Μη μου άπτου(haptou-haptic)
"What is hell?" I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love.
