Blandishment
Blandishment is among the euphemisms taken to task by Allan Sherman:
"She succumbed to his blandishments:
She fell unconscious, but he went right on blandishing."
-gailr

I grew up on Alan Sherman, I had that album, "Hello Muddah", yes kiddies albums or LP's were the DVD's of their time, made of a half pound of vinyl, not portable, downloadable or easily pirated. They scratched easily and often required a nickle to be taped on the back of the needle arm so it wouldn't skip or repeat. But if the stereo went 'out' it could be fixed by nearly anyone with even the smallest amount of ability. The cars of that era were the same.
