A simple dictionary search reveals that "grow" is either transitive or intransitive. So what's all this old bollocks about, really?

Growing Things
Grow is just another in a growing series of words that are being transitivized. I still find it hard to swallow "graduate high school", though wait (on) tables and attend (to) those in need are beginning to sink in.
We don't seem to like prepositions, that's true.

And Doc, thanks for restating what I was saying.
As elsewhere we trap ourselves in argumentative illogic: I noted that I found certain phrases distasteful; Malachai seems to want to prove that I can't do that. Thanks for cutting to the quick.

Re: Growing Things
That was not my intention. My intention was: you don't have to like it, but that doesn't mean it's not wrong when other people use it.

Are you saying now that it is wrong?

I don't think he's not saying that. Keep in mind you have to read Malachai irregardless of double negatives.
As GW Bush would say, It's hard work!

While I would agree that it may be normal for those speakers, I wouldn't necessarily agree that they are comprehensible.
I know, I'm a curmudgeon--sometimes willingly and purposely!

Let's not quibble over prefixes; change a couple letters and you've got reprehensible.
Unless those who just make it up as they go are better described as prehensible or even apprehensible? I think I'm going to K.I.S.S. and start using unhensible. Can I get a huzzah on that?
