Oh yeah the sixties. WNCW just played Ricki Lee Jones' cover of Gloria. That just took me right back to the local dances, where there wasn't a garage band in sight that didn't do Gloria and Louie Louie. Far out!

Ricki Lee Jones covered Gloria!? That's just wrong.

10-15 years ago, the Washington State Legislature was voting on a new official state song. If I recall correctly, Louie Louie was one of the three finalists. (The Kingsmen were from Washington.) It finished a close second in the voting.

In my opinion, if there's any state that Louie Louie would fit, it'd be Washington. It'd probably work for Oregon as well.

1950s: Does the thought of pegged pants and poodle skirts make you tingle?

Was a teenager in the 60's, so parents slang and movie slang influenced me. Also slang in the UK is different to USA and Scotland had some of its own :lol:

Money was "dough","bread" or "Siller".

Prison is "the clink" or "inside".
