Bumper Stickers

Postby Stargzer » Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:37 am

Time for a new topic that can run on as long as the Pun Times thread.

Bumper Stickers are great places to find humor in the form of quips and puns.

Let's try to keep this to ones that you've actually seen, not just some collected from a list somewhere.

One of my brothers had one back in the 70s that his print shop teacher at Archbishop Carrol High School had created; it was quickly picked up and copied before he was able to copyright it:
ILLITERATE? Write for free help!
One that I've seen several times over the years that I'll have to print for myself if I can't find it:

Driver carries no cash -- he's married
One that I saw in Washington DC a few weeks ago:
Terrorist Hunting License. License No. 0911. Open Season, No Limit.
And finally, one I saw on the Baltimore Beltway the other day:
Rehab is for Quitters

I loved the rehab one.

Two that I see around town.
Keep Asheville weird.
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?

Last time I ventured out between the snowdrifts:
God is my copilot
but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him

My daughter has one:
Vegetarians do it with relish
but wear a condiment
I've also seen one from a local electricians union:
Let Us Remove Your Shorts

Another one I saw in Asheville:
Thank you, baby cheeses!
Stop! Murder us not, tonsured rumpots! Knife no one, fink!

Saw this one yesterday.
It's called tourist season. So why can't we shoot them?

In the gift shop at the Jamestown National Historic Site in Colonial National Historical Park:
Jamestowne--1607: When Survival Wasn't A Game

Three seen on the same car today while we were returning from vacation in Williamsburg:
Guns Don't Kill People.
Drivers on Cell Phones
Kill People.

Horn Broken.
Watch For Finger.

And one for Doc:

I also found someone's page with more bumper stickers in one place than I've ever seen!

Do not play a leap frog with a unicorn.

Go On, I will See You At The Next Light.

There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count & those who can't.

Growing old is inevitable...Growing up is optional.

Don't say mean things about the illiterate; Write Them Instead.
Thanks for the link. These (from that website) tickled me.

It was too late last night to read them all! I had just finished my first run through a week's worth of office EMail when I entered the Alpha Agora.

The one you quoted reminds me of a tagline I've used that bears repeating:
There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't.
